Call for Papers

This year the Call for Papers includes both Research Papers and Professional Practice Papers. The intention is to bring together transport researchers, policymakers, advisors and practitioners from a range of disciplines to share and build upon the latest research and thinking.

Research Paper submission has now closed with over 100 papers submitted for review.   Full Professional Practice papers should be submitted through EasyChair by the extended deadline  of 5:00pm, Monday 14 August 2017.  Papers submitted after this date may be deemed ineligible for presentation at the conference.

The ‘Professional Practice Paper’ stream is designed primarily for practitioners from government and the private sector. Professional Practice Papers will be reviewed from the perspective of their contribution to professional practice rather than their scientific aspect. These papers are expected to provide an insightful description of rigorous professional work associated with the administration, policy, planning, design or operation of the transport system. Papers are expected to have relevance beyond the jurisdiction or organisation where the work was undertaken and authors are encouraged to consider the broader implications of their work for professional practice. In addition to being clearly written and free from obvious advertising or self-promotion, the objectives of the paper need to be clear and the work of others recognised through appropriate citation of references. The methods employed need to be clearly explained and the conclusions presented in the paper need to be supported by adequate evidence in the body of the paper.

You can submit your papers to only one of the following tracks and you must nominate a track to begin the process of submitting a paper.

    • T01: Research Papers – Freight & Logistics
    • T02: Research Papers – Transport modelling, forecasting and simulation
